LO: To recognise that content on the WWW is created by people
In today’s lesson, Year 4 explored the question ‘Who owns the web?’
We began by looking at three websites and considering where the content of these sites came from. We thought about if the content was able to be viewed by anyone, if it could be downloaded and if we were allowed to use it as our own. We found out that different websites have different rules, but that it is important to consider these questions when looking at information online.
Next, we talked about how information can be accessed online and how there are rules to protect content. We discussed copyright and considered where this might be used and why it is important. We looked at websites and explored where the copyright information might be found.
